Hello there, Family.

by on Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I just thought I’d give a “shout out” to any family members who may be reading this blog in the next couple days. Sorry, I’m not very consistent about keeping up with e-mailing all of you. I’ve been working for B.R.Guest over the past couple months and didn’t have e-mail access at work. Xonikz.com was an “unknown site” or some such excuse and they had it blocked from their server. That’s not really the excuse. My real excuse is that, in an effort to save money, I’ve been doing absolutely nothing, besides what’s chronicled on this blog , and haven’t had a lot of “new” stuff to chat about. I hope you’re all well.

The Originals

I was in the shower yesterday and overheard, out the open window, some guy on the street saying, “What?! What?! What?! What?! What?!”. Now, this was loud enough that I could hear it on the fifth floor and over the noise of the shower, but it made me laugh. I thought, “he must be on his phone”. He kept saying the “What?!” really loudly for nearly 10 minutes straight. I dried off and walked to the Kitchen to look out to the street. Sure enough, the guy was walking around yelling “what?!” every so often, but he wasn’t talking on the phone. (more…)

Something I don't understand…

I recently watched a movie in which a father had to make a choice during a disaster as to whether to save his son or his wife. Like common movie morals he chose to save his son. The thing I don’t understand is the emotion behind this act. I don’t have kids, which probably means I can’t feel this to its utmost depth; but I have to disagree with his choice. I know it’s probably callous of me, but I think saving the child was a questionable choice. (more…)

HTML version up… sort of

by on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

I’ve spent the last several hours putting up an HTML alternate version of the Flash website. Yes, I know that sounds backwards, but that’s what’s been happening. It was always my intention to have two versions simultaneously. I’m attempting to make the HTML version entirely Flash free, which is harder than it seems. I’ve gotten quite used to the inclusion of XML fed galleries and such. I have yet to discover an easily configurable XML gallery for HTML that doesn’t incorporate PHP, which I just don’t have the desire to fully learn yet. Perhaps that’s laziness, but languages have never been my high point, and I’ve learned two, roughly, in the past couple months. Oh, I forgot CSS. Make that three.

Anyhow, it’s way past my bedtime, here, and getting on towards morning; but this is me saying, “HTML, got that too.”

Scion Madness

The Major Auto Show season is starting up at the end of this month with the Texas State Fair. I’ll be in Texas for several weeks and will add a post on that show when I’m done; however, I felt it necessary to start off this season with a general invite/overview to engage those who may not be aware of the significance of the Auto Shows and their marketing impact.
